Light. I love it. I crave it. I NEED it. I have always loved LIGHT.
Photography is all about finding, creating, and using light. If you find light, you can take amazing pictures. Photography is a little bit about the gear and WHOLE LOT about LIGHT. I have always loved photography just as much as I love light.
When the world is dark and gray, or when it SNOWS in APRIL, I search for light. I look for the traces of sun in the horizon or the beautiful bright patch behind the thick, colorless clouds. I seek silhouettes and any hint that light might be present. I have always loved light.
When I think of light, I think of warmth. I can feel the sun’s rays beating down on my face. I can feel warmth, energy, and happiness. Light is a powerful tool and one of the best gifts from God. I have always loved light.
During the dark and cold days of winter, I have learned to list my thankfuls. I am thankful for light. I am thankful for love. I am thankful for hugs. I am thankful for giggles and stories. When the light does not shine through the clouds, I use God’s gifts to create it.
During this dark time in our family. When it’s easy to be sad, stressed and worn down. We are working hard at turning to God and thanking Him for the light He gives us. We are thankful for family, selflessness, meals, and generosity. We are thankful for time, love, and laughter. It’s easy to be sad, but finding light is the way to happiness.
I have always loved light. I am thankful that God is helping us find it, even for a moment, each and every day. For that, and so many other things, I am eternally and humbly grateful.
How do you find your light?
